If Dr. Sharara identifies that you need a crown, he must first prepare the tooth by removing an outer portion of dental enamel as well as any decayed areas. This creates a rounded, cylinder-like surface for him to properly place the CEREC Same-Day crown.
Dr. Sharara moves an oral camera over the damaged and nearby teeth, and transmits these images to computer software used for constructing the CEREC crowns. Dr. Sharara uses this information to build a custom crown designed to fit only your unique dental structure.
The computer will transmit the digital impression of the crown to a milling machine, which will cut the restoration out of a block of dental porcelain. The entire process of cutting the crown takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Finally, Dr. Sharara will restore your smile by cementing the crown over your tooth.
